The past two nights have been so much fun, and well needed after a week like this past one.
On Friday, I hit up Cafe XA and they had speghetti and meatballs. Can you say “yum!!”?? Sooo good after a week of school food. After we all ate, I was able to convince a large group of my friends to go see Enchanted with me, most of them being guys. Needless to say, the guys were very reluctant to go, their “man cards” were going to have to be thrown away if they went. haha (inside joke) Overall, 17 of us went to go see the movie, and throughout the whole film all I heard was laughter from all the guys. SCORE!!!
I picked a good movie, whether or not some of them will admit it, but I did. Brad loves that movie now though! He was so incredibly reluctant to go see it, but now he loves it, and even said that if more chick flicks were like that one, he would turn over his man card. It was hilarious!! After the movie, most of us headed to the guy’s apartment to chill. Some of the guys ended up playing guitar hero 3, and the rest of us played Catch Phrase. I finally left the apt. around 2:30in the morning, crashing in bed an hour later.

Today I slept in till noon. It was wonderful. Took a quick shower, got dressed, left my hair curly, and drove to wendys for some lunch before joining Bobby at the library for some good studying. When I finally left, Trista was asleep on a chair, Brian was working on a powerpoint, Sarah was doing an online jigsaw puzzle, Zach was working on homework, and Bobby was working on some engineering project that is due Tuesday and he had just figured out that the stuff he had been doing for the past 20 min. was not allowed, poor guy.
Came back to my place and in a frenzy tried to find something dressy to wear to go salsa dancing. Tim and Quauhtli had invited some of us to go during cafe xa, but only Marguax and I were joining them. Dressed in a flowy, black sheer, flower-print skirt and a low-cut v-neck top, with some cute heels I came down the stairs when Tim came in. He took one look at me and said, “Wow, I am the odd one tonite.” haha. Quauhltli had told Marguax and I to dress up, wheres as Tim was looking nice, but still more causual. Overall, it didn’t matter. Once we got there we saw girls in everything from jeans to what is probably competition salsa wear.
A little around 7:30, they lined us in 2 seperate lines, guys and girls, (there were waay more girls then guys though) and two chi alpha leaders from the other school started teaching us the dance steps for the next half hour. The guy I ended up being partnered with had never salsa danced before either. Sadly, he was not very good at leading, which is something the guy needs to be strong in when salsa dancing. Lessons went till 8, and we learned the basic step, the spin, the crossover, and another one that I can’t remember. My partner and I, really only got down the basic step. *shakes head*
Once 8 o’clock hit, they let us loose and we all started dancing. Tim asked me to dance and he helped me to get the spin down. I kept wanting to spin and step the wrong way, but I finally got it. Since I really didn’t know anyone, I spent most of the night talking with a group of girls that I met, Marguax, Quauhtli, and Tim. This guy, Alex, and I danced for a bit, and he helped me get down the cross-over step, which was pretty cool. Before the night was over, I ended up dancing with Tim again, while we left Marguax to try and tie a cherry stem in her mouth. After the dance was done, she still hadn’t gotten it. lol. I seriously think its just a guy trick. lol. While she and he danced, Tim’s phone rang and he answered it while dancing. It cracked me and Marguax up. Overall, it was an extremely fun night. Marguax and I have decided to learn how to salsa better and learn other dances as well within the upcoming months. We really liked it.
My feet might have something to say about that though…they are killing me, as are my calf muscles, from wearing those heels all night long and dancing in them. Oh well.
Well, I am off to bed. Got vintage in the morning and I’m excited because I can’t wait to hear what the preacher is going to speak on. I really like this church. I’ve gotten something out of each message I’ve heard so far, and I really feel like this is were I’m supposed to go for now.
